Accountability comes from caring about your customers.
Care can be enforced with laws or process,
but it is better to sit across from your users when
you eat lunch. At lunch we are holding knives, and
not harming each other. Leveraging this
fundamental experience of civilization
improves code quality.
I would prefer to use
buggy software from someone who cares, and will fix
it for the asking, rather than software manufactured
in an optimized development process executed by an
indifferent, interchangable staff.
The challenge to the
is accounting for programmer motivation.
It should work perfectly the first time! - toma
