More nit-picking: You may want to consider a spell check next time since you also incorrectly spelt the following (correct spellings shown): preceding, boundary, boundaries, parenthesis and behaviour.

Thanks again. Must be something about my first shot at a tutorial, while at the same time trying to remember to use proper tags (<code>, etc.), while at the same time discussing a highly technical subject... my spelling digressed fifteen years. You would think I was a product of outcome based education.

Anyway, spell check is in order next time, assuming I emerge from this experience still alive and eager to do it again.

Your comments are appreciated. As I said before, hopefully someone will find this useful. I still maintain that, once the kinks are worked out, it's more detailed than the original.

[Discipulus]: if is the author of a patch, is more like a 'request to push' into rather than a pull request..
[choroba]: as it's considered unpolite to push to someone else's repo
[choroba]: and in fact, you don't push into the target repo, you push into your branch of your fork
[choroba]: the maintainer of the upstream repo than "merges" the pull request, i.e. they pull from your fork into the upstream
[Discipulus]: ' i.e. you asked them to pull from your repo' =~ I (subj) want to push
[Discipulus]: chorobayour words are reasonable
[choroba]: I'm just repeating some else's words as I remembered them after having asked the same question
[choroba]: s/some/someone/
