Movable Type Security

blahblah has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I was looking around the net and came upon Movable Type (which is suprising that I just found it now). Anyhow, I am considering installing it on my server, but I wanted to touch base with the community here to see what everyone's impression of this set of perl scripts is from a security standpoint. I thought I might be able to get non-biased opinions here and google didn't turn up much for me.

Thanks, Alex

it's probably worth mentioning that Movable Type was written by btrott, who is a saint here. based on that alone, i would assume that it is at least above average security-wise.

but be careful of the various 3rd party plugins that have been written to plugin to MT. the quality and security of those varies greatly.
