( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??
Personally, I don't mind the reminder if (at least in the title my spelling mistakes or even wording mistakes) are pointed out. My spell check on my browser saves me most of the time, but not always. Last night I actually mis-typed a title which was pointed out to me fairly quickly. The point was made that searching that node would go a lot better if I modified it. I appreciate it.

On the other hand, when one gets down into the body of the post, that is a different story. Been speaking English all my life and am married to a lady for whom English is a second language. It is pretty tough to get the spelling/grammar correct even for me. I suspect the occasional reminder won't be offensive, but if the node is readable, I think it would be best left alone.

My vote is title = yes, anywhere else, probably not.

Just my $0.02

  • ..by my will, and by will alone.. I set my mind in motion

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
