Yes, it's time to pick on our favorite bogeyman again, the chatterbox.
Lately, I've been using it a bit to have conversations with
some fellow monks via the /msg feature, and the character limit is
getting quite annoying, causing me to send 4 or more separate
messages to complete a (not so lengthy) thought. Yes, I know
it's a *chat* not a *diatribe|rant|soap* box, but maybe we
could find a way to extend the character limits for at least
private messages? Or perhaps a separate area for private messages?
Something a little less than having to switch to email,
but a little more than the chatterbox. Other ideas, comments,
flames welcome. :)

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
