- Use Devel::NYTProf to generate actual benchmarks for your code.
- If you feel your SQL needs profiling, either copy and paste what is generated (you can see if you set the environmental variable DBIC_TRACE to 1) and run that against your DBMS, or use DBIx::Class::QueryProfiler
- Format your node text to be readable in a sane manner.
I'm guessing you're not optimizing what you have right now currently.

<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
