Viewing Unapproved Content

by SirBones (Friar)

There are no stupid questions, but a lot of inquisitive idiots.

Inquisitive idiot that I am...

To quote the Perlmonk FAQ:

It is possible for registered monks to change their user settings so as to see both approved and unapproved nodes listed in each section. (Even then, they will be listed separately.)

I've gone to my user settings and selected "Show Unmoderated Content." But I don't seem to see any of the material distinguished as approved or unapproved when I go to a particular section. Is it just that there happens to be no unapproved content at the time? If there was unapproved content, how would it be indicated?

Begging pardon if the answer is obvious. I'm sure it is, but I can't seem to find the reference.

Try going to your user settings, thence your nodelet settings. Add the Node Status nodelet...that should show you the node's status -- including "approved" or "unapproved" (or something like that).

Update: an "unapproved" node will simply say "Node Type: *mumble*" where *mumble* is the section (monkdiscuss, perlquestion, etc.). Once it is approved, it will note who approved it. Probably likewise for being frontpaged.

I believe the documentation is wrong on some details there (the nodes are listed together with no direct indication of which are approved or not). And there are several other details that I think should be changed in the implementation.

My claims are empirical, and may be colored by being of a sufficient level to get to approve/consider/etc. I didn't consult documentation nor make stuff up... :)

Ah. Thanks. Thought it must be something like that.
