Started using Perl seriously to manage Oracle log files in 1998, then to run servers and now mostly use it for CGI scripts with the DBI module.

Took first (and only) college programming course, FORTRAN IV, in 1969 while completing a degree in chemistry. Was programming in the lab before I switched to IT.
