I believe that he's referring to a version of Emacs that uses the Carbon APIs to make an application behave as a native Macintosh application. Google around for it carbonized Emacs, as I remember there's a version in CVS. Personally, I like vi/vim as editors, I can run them in Terminal.app on my IBook and through ssh sessions to and from other computers. Nice stuff. Cheers. :)
