That doesn't make any sense. Lets say I need a new computer and am deciding which OS to use. According to your logic, I can't use WinXP because it will be going away since Microsoft is working on Vista. But since I don't know when Vista is going to be coming out, I better use Max OS X or Linux! That is a pretty silly way to make a decision. There are many good reasons to use Max OS X or Linux, but the fact that Vista isn't here yet isn't one of them.

    You missed one very important thing. Whether people are willing to wait? This world is not made fair for everyone. For a company like Microsoft, lots of people will wait. Does Perl has the same luxury? If you think yes, then just go enjoy yourself.

    For Microsoft, lots of people would rather wait for what they promised, and not to go with any one else, even those ones might have some thing in existance already. That's Microsoft.
