Please don't bring up P5EE. For two reasons: 1) The project was a failure and never produced anything usable in the EE sense; 2) The fact it mimics J2EE's name only proves that the P5EE people recognized Java's enterprise status, and they want to catch up, although they actually never caught up.

    Who cares if p5ee was a failure that never produced anything or never caught up with Java? They still tried to define enterprise software, and I fouund a much more trenchant definition than I found anywhere else.

    I don't really have an inferiority complex with Java, so I don't try to deny its existence eitgher.

    Perhaps you disagree with the p5ee definition. You can tell us how you think they're wrong (and that would be much more useful).
