Signature bug? (div not closed)

While reading 510570 I found that my custom style for the .pmsig CSS class is being applied to the whole thread, starting from the first pmsig div tag. I looked at the code and found this:
<div class="pmsig"><div class="pmsig-347753"> <font size="-2"> =oQDlNWYsBHI5JXZ2VGIulGIlJXYgQkUPxEIlhGdgY2bgMXZ5VGIlhGV </font> </p><p>
and the divs are never closed. From what I understand, those div tags should be added (and closed) automatically... does anyone know what's going on? I've looked at other recent threads and all the signature divs are closed properly.

Replies are listed 'Best First'.

I don't have this problem because I've gone to Display Settings and turned on "Enforce proper nesting of HTML".

When I write a node, my signature pre-populates the text entry field. If I were to guess, the author of the node in question whacked the </div> tag accidentally.

Oh, ok. I had never used signatures myself, so I was not aware that the div tags themselves were part of the editable part of the post. I thought they were added automatically. Thanks! :)
Sure thing. Now, were I you, I'd /msg the author and let him know about the problem.
