on Feb 05, 2001 at 10:04 UTC ( #56377=monkdiscuss: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

Request for features for the advanced chatterbox frameset at
/index.pl?node_id=3184&displaytype=raw
  1. Add target="_top" to the other user links in node=showotherusers
  2. Remove the NORESIZE attribute from the first frame tag so the input frame is resizable.
thanks - epoptai

    My suggestons:
    1. Add target="_top" to the message inbox messages
    2. Remove the meta refresh, and add a refresh button
    update:
or have the refresh be a configurable setting(&meta=sec&button)

"cRaZy is co01, but sometimes cRaZy is cRaZy".

I think the refresh is great... that way you will get to see what everyone is saying... like if you were away for a minute and came back - you dont remember to refresh it - dont worry! it's already done! =)

However, couple of things I would suggest adding/changing:
      1. Move the blank for entering comments down in the frame where the "submit" button it
      2. Make the text window scrollable - for a short time at least (capability of reading past comments while AFK)
Other than that, I think the whole thing is outstanding... now, where's the source? :)

(crazyinsomniac: BUG) Re: chatterbox frameset improvements

    BUG:
There appears to be a bug in the show private messages frame(ie the js cb message inbox).

After you've checked off a message, and it comes time to refresh again(30 sec), i am prompted(in IE5) that the page cannot be refreshed without resending the information. Please fix it.

Chatterbox?
[perldigious]: Hmm, thanks Lotus1... perldigious scribbles note to buy lots of opossums as "pets" in the future to hang around outside his property. :-P
[1nickt]: You must twist and pull! If you burn, use tea tree oil etc, the tick barfs (inside your blood vessel) and you get all the loevely bacteria in his gut transferred to yours.
[1nickt]: tweesers work just fine
[hippo]: Hope everyone else is enjoying their lunch too.
[1nickt]: However, note that it takes between 2 and 4 hours for a tick to be able to start transmitting bacteria. So even if it has burrowed in and started eating, if you get it soon you should be OK.
[perldigious]: 1nickt: No more red meat! It would be more humane to just kill you, wouldn't it! :-)
[1nickt]: Just don't make it barf.
[1nickt]: perldigious that's exactly what my stepson says.
[1nickt]: the tick that can make you a vegetarian
[perldigious]: Your Mother: Yeah, I have a tool for ticks that I use (mostly on my dogs thankfully), but it's just a cheapo one I got from my vets office... it works pretty good though.
