Win32::OLE on Linux???by shotgunefx (Parson)

shotgunefx has asked for the
wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
I realize this is a bit of a strange question, and frankly I'm not sure were to even begin.
Given the quality of the "Text to Speech" voices available for linux, I decided to finally give Wine a whirl.
I had no luck getting the MS Speech 5 SDK installed, but after scanning my crufty drives, I found an older 4.x version SAPI4.
This installed for the most part without issue and works great. Even under the stress test programs provided with it. (Very strange to hear "Microsoft Mouth" spewing obscenities at Bill Gates from KDE lol)
The only program that doesn't work (of course), is the speak.exe program which speaks words off the command line or a file. If I have to, I could just rewrite it in C (hopefully coding around the existing problem), but I was wondering if it would be just possible to install Win32 on linux.
I don't know much of how Wine works, is something like that possible or would I need to install a "Windows" version of Perl and run it from there? If it's the latter, I'll probably just go the C route, but thought someone might have some experience.
