Okay, I'll admit I have a couple of comfort books too: whatever Go problem books I'm working through at the time. Taking a moment to do something else when frustrated definitely helps me through trouble spots. K&R, though, brings up unpleasant memories of a crabby computer science professor, and is left on the back shelf.
