Linux video: not a problem
Linux sound: not a problem
Linux printing: not a problem, though I understand it's printer-dependant (I like Brother)
Linux iPod: dunno... I bought a reasonably priced mp3/ogg player and it works great.

Well gosh, I must have been imagining how bad it all was. I'll have to remember that in future, whenever I think something doesn't work very well it's all in my head.

So I'm going to try to make ice cream in my oven when I get home. Cos wolfger reckons it will work.

Is that what passes for logic in a Mac world? I certify that certain things work for me with no problems whatsoever, ergo I think you can make ice cream in an oven? WTF?

The bit about ice cream was what we call in English a "joke".

I do, however, wonder how you can be so certain that things like video and sound will work on their current hardware without having the faintest idea what that hardware is. Is this omniscience common in the Linux world?
