yusy has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi guys, Need your help:) I use Windows XP + Active Perl 5.10 I installed crypt-ssleay, and it tells me "The ordinal 3212 could not be located in the dynamic link library LIBEAY32.dll" I tried but failed to find a right version of dll file. Could somebody help me? Thanks! ================================ syphilis and randyk, Thanks! I install Crypt::SSLeay from uwinnipeg, but it didn't give the chance to fetch the files. I replace them by the files that randyk suggested. the problem solved. Thanks!

If you installed Crypt-SSLeay from the UWinnipeg 10xx repository via ppm, a post-install script should have been run, offering to fetch and install the required libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll. If this didn't run, you can get them directly from http://cpan.uwinnipeg.ca/PPMPackages/10xx/scripts/. If you have other versions of these dlls on your system, make sure the location you installed the dlls from the UWinnipeg site into appears somewhere in your PATH ahead of the others.

    Hi yusy,
How did you install Crypt::SSLeay ?
If you installed from the uwinnipeg rep (using PPM) then I think you should have been prompted to install the dll's (as part of the 'ppm install' process). Accepting the offer to install the dll's should then fix your problem.

So ... try re-running ppm install http://cpan.uwinnipeg.ca/PPMPackages/10xx/Crypt-SSLeay.ppd only this time also take up the offer to have the the dll's installed. (You may find that you first need to run ppm remove Crypt-SSLeay before you can successfully re-run the install.)

If I'm "way off" in my assumptions, then it would be best if you could provide details of what you actually did to install Crypt-SSLeay.

    Cheers,
    Rob
