Inappropriate ioctl for device

selva has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:


I am using IO::Socket::INET module for socket connection .

some times writing the data in to the socket not happened , and it shows the following error

" Inappropriate ioctl for device "
Which time this error will come and how do i resolve it

[Corion]: Nicholas Clark++ # read for a multichar block-delimiter by scanning for the last char, and only then check whether the whole delimiter was read.
[Corion]: At least if you're appending the data read to a larger buffer, this means you avoid the situation of "a delimiter was found but the other half has not been read yet"
