I feel pain also! But I have no idea to write a perl module for my C/C++ colleagues! :(

In my opnion, perl embed is the only flaw of perl5. That's why I'm drooling about perl6 & parrot.

Corion looks at the SVG. If the different regions have IDs, then you can colorize the map by providing a CSS file with the colors.
[Corion]: Meh. IE crashes when displaying that SVG as saved from Firefox ...

[Discipulus]: to crash is not the default behaviour of IE? ;=)
[Discipulus]: so every library (js) to sdelect and modify the id parameters can be good.
