in reply to I can afford to spend so much time at the Monastery because:

The reason to spend time here specifically is because
  • Perl helps me to earn money.
  • Perlmonks enhances the depth of view of the concepts I have learnt in Perl
  • I am experiencing the term 'there is more than a way to do it' in the posts of perlmonks
  • Perlmonks.org helps me to stay in touch with authors of best perl books and other intelligent monks, if I visit/contribute/share something here it extends the life of my Perl knowledge

And what will happen will not fail to happen, however much one may seek to prevent it. This is certain. The part of wisdom therefore is to stay quiet.

[stevieb]: I am thankful that I fell into Perl years ago in the manner I did. I don't believe there is another language that people care about so much, that they're willing to give everything. Langs come and go, but in Perl, it seems, things remain consistent.
