Here is my attempt:

sub avg { return eval '(' . join('+', @{$_[0]}) . ')/' . scalar(@{$_[0]}); }

Works pretty good over all :)

    Hi,

    You could make it shorter by taking out the scalar(). @{$_[0]} is already interpretted in scalar context.
