That's a lot of RAM. My current laptop is 166Mhz with only 48 Mb of RAM. :) (Though I've bought a dual core 1.6Ghz / 2Gb RAM netbook, and will eventually get it configured with an effective load, its going slowly) The way I see it is; if I can make the Perl code efficient enough for me to sit through a run on the old laptop, nobody can complain about its performance on modern hardware!
