Did you know that Blekko is written in Perl? Like Duck duck go, apparently the new search engines are made in Perl, that's the new trend!

Here's an interesting article on Blekko technology stack.

    People were very vocal about Duck duck go, and but after a week, noone talked about Duck duck go anymore. All the time, people kept using Google.

    No doubt Blekko will soon be forgotten by most of us.

    On my list of points to consider whether to use an certain search engine, the language it's written in doesn't make make the top 100. It's about as relevant for the user as the colour(s) of the cat cables they're using.

      Hum... No, I'm using DuckDuck Go quite a lot. Do you know it also provides https search, among other useful features ?

      Indeed. However the technology used is of importance to us perl programmers, don't you think so? Aren't you interested in knowing what people are building using perl, and how? I didn't send a link to the Blekko main page, but to an article on its technology...

      Duck Duck Go ++

      While I do still use Google, Duck Duck is my default these days.

    By the way, there are slashtags for Perl searching:

    /perl
    /cpan

    So, for example, you can search for

    OAuth /perl
    OAuth /cpan

    Enjoy!

      Speaking of the /cpan slashtag, I narrowed it a bit and it works quite nicely... still, we might want to make it an API slashtag instead of a regular one.

    fwiw, I'd never heard of Duck Duck Go (let alone Blekko) before your post.

    Implications of this are left to the imagination.

    What is the sound of Windows? Is it not the sound of a wall upon which people have smashed their heads... all the way through?
