Why was there no option for those people who are good enough to have a job where they can hack all the Perl they like from home (or the park, or a coffee shop in Amsterdam, or...)?

    ...I think the "van down by the river" option was for us. In fact, I was actually recently caught sending an update to a CGI script from a Penske rental truck, using a cell phone to get a net connection while passing through Memphis in the rain. Who needs fuel oil and fertilizer anyway? Guns and explosives are the munitions of the past. It's knowledge that counts now. Knowledge and connectivity. Van by the river works well for that!
