Barcodes are not plaintext but they can be. i´m sure that i can send a plaintext as a chain of command to the printer. and the printer makes out of it a barcode. but i´m not sure how this commandline should look like. 4sure => haven´t thought about the background ink saving feature. sounds good to me ;-) probably i´m able to disable it :-D
