This could be considered poetry of the subconscious (TMTOWTDI).

I woke up from an odd dream. In the dream, I was in the living room using my computer, and my wife was in the kitchen. She was asking me to bring her a Pepsi1, despite her being the one in the kitchen.

I sat there and enumerated all the different ways she could be using Perl to get the Pepsis out of the fridge, and I was being serious about it too. In this dream world, drink $_ foreach (@{$fridge->{PEPSIS}}) was a reality!

Possibly related to us discussing naming a future daughter Perl the night before.

1. Not that we have or drink any, but this is how dreams go.

Hey, Perl's not a bad name for a daughter. It beats calling your kid Java, PHP or C++. Pascal and Ada are based on actual names. And it'd just be cruel to name your kid Python.

Oh yeah. Congrats on being a Perl coder and having a wife (that will actually have kids with you). May you pass on the noblest aspects of programming to the next generation. (My kids have no interest so far... but I have hope for the younger ones still...)

I'm inclined to agree (and so is my wife, so now all I can do is hope our next is a daughter! .. totally out of boy's names ...). As for my wife.. she is pretty awesome! :D She's currently sitting beside me in a GPLv3 advertisement shirt, so with any luck I can instil the Right Way of programming into my kids.
