Like I said, I already verified my script runs correctly outside a web server as the apache user so I'm out of tricks and looking for someone who has some. -mark

    Yeah, and chroot and selinux are features that can be selectively enabled for apache in various ways

    Switching to user apache isn't sufficient to ruling this stuff out, you have to examine apache configuration ...

      Maybe you missed my comment in the base note, or maybe I wasn't explicit enough, but I have 2 virgin RHEL62/Apache installation and my test script works on and not the other. The ONLY variable is the physical machine and the hypervisor. The one running on VirtualBox has the issues. Nothing else is different, at least not that I can think of. -mark
