I don't understand why you'd remove Perlbuzz. While Perlbuzz is indeed "pretty much Andy Lester's playground", that doesn't mean it's not a good source of Perl news.

I removed Perlbuzz simply because we've got a link to Perlsphere, which includes all updates from Perlbuzz plus much more.

That's good enough for me! Thanks, Arunbear.

      That sounds sensible to me.

I wonder if it would make sense to also add Twitter feeds that are news sources. Of course I suggest @perlbuzz as the first obvious one, but I wonder if there are others. Then again, that I can't think of any offhand says maybe there aren't others, so never mind. :-)

How roundly tart of you :)

It's not. It's mostly a hand-created (and therefore highly biased) weekly blog aggregator, with a bit of editorial fluff.
      That's right. It's curated.

If all that a feed does is aggregate, without distinction, everything posted from a given blog source, then it's not news. It's an unintelligent dump.

Besides, there's no such thing as "unbiased." Everything involves human decisions at some level.

By this logic the Perl News section on Perl Monks is itself invalid.

I'd like to see some discussion on the value of Perlbuzz. I don't care whether it's hand-curated, or what. Does it have any value as a "Perl news" source? If so, I'll add it back in.

I reckon we are the only monastery ever to have a dungeon stuffed with 16,000 zombies.
How many personal blogs should count as Perl "news"? That's what PerlBuzz is, and Mr. Lester isn't even a significant Perl contributor (unless you count adding the "const" keyword). I would say "none," because there are too many to include them all.
