I would assume that the similarity to VB 6 is that method calls use the dot. Another similarity is that with the ability of Parrot to run .NET byte code you can choose to integrate (a bad implementation of) C# with Perl 6 on all platforms where Perl runs.
These are not important similarities, nor are they negative ones, but they are similarities that Perl 5 does not have.
