With this little query I didn't know whether I was seeking Perl wisdom or meditating or simply after some discussion.

I have heard of such bodies as the British Computer Society and the Association of Computer Professionals that permit the use of letters after your name once you join to show that you are a member of a professional body.

Does anything like this exist specifically for Perl?

Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
