e-mailed me with what she as I problem with, and I'll admit I'm not too happy with the current set up myself. Right now there are 3 places for users to add code: the Craft
page, the Snippets Section
, and the Code Catacombs
- Craft was what we originally started with. It had its own display type so you could type in code without any tags around it and have it displayed nicely. The bad thing about this was that although it was displayed on the front page it's viewable life was short unless you kept hitting next links
- Snippets was our response to this people could add short blurbs of useful code and we would slowly categorize them for easy browsing
- Code Catacombs were for larger pieces of code, scripts or modules that stood on their own
Now there are so many places to put code... not even counting the Obfuscated Code
Section that user's especially new users don't know where to put their code. Also snippets and pieces of code aren't set up to be quite as easily vieweed in a frontpage sort of format right now because they contain some additional types of information that other types don't have.
What does everyone else think about this issue?
