When I'm browsing the site, I occasionally want to look at the list of my writeups. Usually looking for reputation or replies to replies (which we don't get notification of).

I find that I'm accessing this more frequently than my "home node". Now this may just be the way that I use the site, but it seems to me that I have a link to my home node at the top of the page but no easy way to get my writups. It maybe that this facility exists and I haven't stumbled across it yet. Yes I know the link I'm looking for is on my home node. Here's the thing, that's the only reason I ever have for accessing my home node. It just adds another page I have to go through to get where I'm really going.

Would it be desireable/possible to get another link added to the standard header for monks who are logged in. So you would have (in my case)

What about adding the writeups node to your "personal nodelet?" That way you can access it at any time, and vroom doesn't have to make any changes.

I'm not opposed to the idea, but I don't know as it's useful enough to everyone to be worth it.

Why not add it to my personal nodelett?? Laziness (hey Larry Wall says it's a virtue and that's good enough for me ;-))

The serious answer is that I had considered that as an option. However (there's always one of those with me, isn't there) I had assumed (rightly or wrongly):

      • The header is standard on all pages so we're talking about a (minor???) one time change. If I'm wrong and this isn't implementible simply, please consider the request withdrawn.
      • Having it at the top of the screen means I know exactly where to go to get it.
      • It also means that if the site tells me my experience has changed and i want to see the writeups to see what may have been affected, thens it's on the same screen. I have to scroll down and indeterminate number of pages to get the personal nodelet dependant on how many people are here.

I just remembered that you can reorder the nodelets so that might invalidate reason 3. I still think a new link in the header is cleaner and simpler.

      Feel free to disageee.

"don't know as it's useful enough to everyone to be worth it"
I agree with Ozy on this point, since it would only save one mouseclick.

      "add to personal nodelet?"
but I wouldn't do this myself, since I use personal nodelet to temporarily link posts to revisit for ++.

Different bonks for different Monks, is what I always say.

Perhaps, instead of a new link, it's an option to add your writup list ( most recent 50, or whatever ) to your home node?

Sounds to me like you want to remove a step, why not remove it from your current process?

Even farther out there would be the ability to do something like this, on your home node:

    [Personal Node List|Date Desc|50]
    Enjoy!
