I'm really a C++ programmer, but I wanted to learn Perl because it's so damn good at data manipulation and the I/O is fairly easy, compared to say, Java. Plus, being a *NIX user, it's my duty to know at least a little bit of Perl. I hope someday that I'll be as good in Perl as I am in C++.
