in thread GDPR ( Global Data Protection Rights )

That's not the only way of life; some would say, no way of life at all. A credit card is not the life prerequisite in many (or most) societies.

And those societies let you in if that's where you think want to be. Most of their host nations have onerous hurdles to emigrate legally but, as you say, it's there for you as long you bring a bank account to the country with a couple hundred grand so they know you're no mooching crypto-colonizer. I wish we could expel those who say this is no way of life at all to the places they idealize. Karma would no longer be a fiction.

You are welcome, credit card doesn't help much inside German shops.

But I have no clue why FB or Google knowing about my Web traffic should be related to my bank account.

      Cheers Rolf

I looked into permanent visa status in Europe, Italy specifically, 25 years ago. I don't know if the rules have changed but at the time I definitely couldn't afford it. I don't know if burning a US passport gets you a discount or not.

The NSA and the rest of the US made alphabet soup beg to differ on how your web traffic, viewing habits, school and work history, what medical records slip through, and bank accounts are tightly bound! And they are immune to all legislation, domestic and international. It's part of the ongoing joke. The groups that have access to most all your information are also the groups that kill, torture, imprison, and kidnap people in reality and fund more of the same in other places. But a new niche in the economy rising from the bones of junk mail…? Boo!
