Ah! I've seen dialog on my debian installs. I never knew that that's what was behind it. I just installed it on my Mac with homebrew. That could come in handy.
I have XQuartz installed but I don't know much about it. Once I was able to figure out how to open a GUI app on my Linux box with it on my Mac over ssh. But that's as far as I got. I'll do some more googling on that. Thanks.
I did see some other suggestions here on PM for using Applescript with perl. Will explore that as well.
