in reply to The Ten PM Commandments

Someone has been misguided. Perhaps there is a false prophet spreading rumors through the land of PerlMonks...

The True Commandments of PerlMonks interpreted by your humble servant, Ozymandias

  • The One True Dog* is #!/usr/bin/perl, and vroom is his prophet
  • Thou shalt not keep other Dogs, unless they can do the job better.
  • Thou shalt not take the name of The One True Dog in vain, unless of course the code doesn't work.
  • Thou shalt remember and keep sacred all deadlines, especially when they have passed.
  • Thou shalt honor thine betters and thine elders, for they know more than you do.
  • Thou shalt not whine about the -- votes, nor gloat about the ++ ones.
  • Thou shalt not steal code from other monks - unless you can use it, improve it, or otherwise do something with it.
  • Thou shalt not post code outside of <code> </code> tags.
  • Thou shalt use strict;
  • This space left blank; like Perl, it is intended to change and to grow. <G>

* The use of Dog is intended to remind those who might otherwise forget that the word God means different things to different people. Insert the word of your choice in its place.

Oh, yes... the "his"... well, perl (and I mean the interpreter now) is a man. Cranky, stubborn, and literal. <G>
