A bunch of us are creating a new local Perl Mongers group. We tried to submit a new group on the web site back in October and have not yet gotten a response. Is that system still being maintained?

As a board member of the now-defunct PerlMongers Non-Profit corporation, who had formerly owned, my recollection was that all the assets, including the machine, were donated to the Perl Foundation.

If is not being maintained, please contact someone at the Perl Foundation for action.

Ah! All we need to do now is add a bar to the Monastery and we could apply for

                      - tye (and we could write a module for holding meetings via /msg during slow server times)
And depending on the time of day, you could call it ;)

I also filed in October to start an Akron (Ohio) chapter after moving from Portland and leaving behind their wonderful group. Although it took a few weeks I did eventually get a reply and mailing list for the group, so hang in there. I haven't gotten the DNS aimed our way yet though.

Please send the details in an email to me at I'll try to sort it out.
