I don't have a link but I remember an article in the Perl Journal some time ago about Perl being used a lot at NORAD and in nuclear missle guidance systems.
It might not be a great example as there was a problem after install (not due to Perl, but the author's misunderstanding of the ^^ op).
I think it was titled something like "Perl and Nuclear don't mix."
