That idea struck me from behind. merlyn claims to be a good singer and the Perl Monks are highly creative. I envision an album of covered songs with alternative, geekish lyrics, of which a bad example might be:
If I were a spammerPeter, Paul & Mary (If I had a hammer)
I'd spam them in the morning
I'd spam them in the evening
All over the web
I'd spam them from my laptop
I'd spam them from my palm
I'd spam them from evry computer I can get
All over the web
Skilled fellow brothers could create the lyrics, some monk with appropriate hardware produce it and merlyn sings (if he wants).
Then the songs can be made available for download at a music site. The money from that goes, of course, directly to the Offering Plate.
I'm sure there are some legal tripwires (that I don't know about). But even if these tripwires will make it impossible to produce the album, the assembling of the lyrics will be funny.
