I sometimes look at the Best Nodes and Worst Nodes, and i have the feeling that in particular the nodes of the year seem rather static.

I would like to ask you what your favorite top nodes are (and why) What did you learn from it, how did it solve a problem etc.

I'm sure it came up before, but i'm curious to see what the status is on this moment, and if you have another opinion then the 'statistics'

Update Thanks all for the answers, reason why i asked it, is that i wanted to know WHAT people like in a node WHY.
I Serious am going to read the nodes you to told me here (Saturn and bians guide i've read), and i believe you gain excellent knowledge of former posts (that might not be well known like the top-list, though the both i read are.)

My favourite node is brian's Guide to Solving Any Perl Problem.

While programming, I was making many silly mistakes, but after going through that node, i followed some instructions given there and now avoiding such silly mistakes and it is very useful for all newbies.

The node that I get the most messages about is not on any of the "Best" lists: How a script becomes a module. It also appeared in The Perl Journal and I think it was my most popular article there if I go by the number of email I got about it. :) Update: Apparently How a script becomes a module moved onto the Best of the Year list when I created this post. Some of those posts must have gone past the year mark.

You can also check my homenode and follow the links to other monks' homenodes under "Homenodes with useful information" (the list there is quite incomplete yet, of course...)

By looking into the ones that have a "Selected Nodes" section, you might find out which happen to be their favourite nodes.
