I found w3m more useful (and, I found it earlier than links ;). It is quite fast, and as aditional feature to links: It can handle user authentication - which links can't and is a feature I really need. Also I couldn't find a way to make links dump a frameset, which is also possible with w3m.

    alfie is TOTALLY right!!!

    w3m rules! It's quite superior, and, the best part, over which I almost fell over, it launches me into vi when i come to edit this text box! something i didn't not know until I came here to write a good review which has turned into an absolute rave!!! =)

      Thanks for the nice response :-) It's funny though that w3m was originally done as a replacement for less - as a pager.
      To those win32 users out there - there are also binaries for that os (you need cygwin IIRC).

      And thanks for the URL you found, jptxs, I haven't known about that one.
