markseger has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
OK, let's try again. I don't want to run system-config-display because it's not on my system, which is redhat. The reason I mention it is the fact this script can get to the data that says I'm using an HP LP2465 monitor, for example, must be available somewhere and I'd just like to know how to find that same information via perl. Does that clarify?
