While we're at it, how about a jargon:// tag?

if linking to www.dictionary.com, the jargon file is included. E.g. flarp.

Re: Monastery tags (need a new xml ticker)

New tags are great but a maintenence problem for XML
clients, because each [tag://] in the XML stream has to be
parsed and turned into a link. Perhaps a new xml ticker
could be made to identify valid linktypes and the url they
need to invoke.

I've been feeling really lazy lately, so I'd like a [response://node-id] tag that would insert a response to the specified node.
For example, [response://85239] would have been composed this response for me, saving me at least 30 seconds of valuable time. | [reply] |

How about a [merlyn://] tag that links to a search
on his column archive? A tag such as [merlyn://cookies]
would return this link: cookies
to this url:
http://www.stonehenge.com/perl/googlecolumnsearch?search_for=cookies

I rather the dict:// tag automatically correct spelling for me, as opposed to giving a link to a definition...
as in, [dict://speling] would be replaced with the first word giving from the list of possible words from the dict site (chosen on your homepage?) and returns it, unbeknownst to anyone else.
UPDATE: After having a goodnights sleep, and seeing how many requests there where for new tags... I figured we should make it easy for vroom to implement, so why not just make a [DWIM://blarg] ala Acme::DWIM ;)

that should be [spell://] and if it works in the preview, as it should, then you can correct it if it picks the wrong thing.
also, btw, dict.org includes jargon file entries.
