The history behind perldoc.perl.org is complicated. For example, there's a [https://github.com/jonallen/perldoc.perl.org|GitHub] repository that seems to contain its source, but the last update happened in 2016.<P>
See [http://perldoc.pl] for a new site motivated by the same feelings you expressed in the parent.<P>
BTW, there's a way how to make links clickable on PerlMonks, e.g. <c>[https://perldoc.perl.org/File/stat.htm]</c> → [https://perldoc.perl.org/File/stat.htm].<P>
