My First JAPH

by Guildenstern (Deacon)
on May 07, 2001 at 19:31 UTC ( #78534=obfuscated: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

Well, I thought it was time I try one of these. Astute PMers will notice that I've borrowed quite a bit from Erudil, so if you like this be sure to ++ his posts if you haven't already. I've tested this on ActiveState, CygWin, and RH 7.
Comments and criticism greatly appreciated!

#!/usr/bin/perl -w use strict; $|++;$^X="4285838400657879847". "2698200486982760072656775698". "200";$^=$"x(3<<1); map{substr( $^,$.++,1)=chr(substr($^X,$_,2) +(2<<4))}(4,20,32,44,40,6);map{ print;eval($^.('$b,'x3).substr( $^X,-1,1).'.'.(2>>1).substr($^X ,-2,1));$_=chr(substr($^X,4,1)) .chr(4<<3);print;}(map{chr($_+( 1<<5))}($^X=~/../g));

Update: Fixed line formatting. It was _quite_ ugly!

    $Letter->Dear(Guildenstern); print "delighfully unreadable...\n"; foreach (@line) { $XP++; } $Rosencrantz->Alias(Novitiate); $Rosencrantz->$Sincerely;

    I must confess, my first letter had, bless my soul, an echo statement instead of print.
    Too much PHP can make the mind mushy; take note of my mistake.

    Humbly,
    Novitiate
