I probably would put some effort into except that every time it comes up -- which seems to be at least once a year or so -- you say you've already developed a solution and you just need to take the time to integrate it. Indeed, it is one of the short list of well defined projects you've assigned to yourself. I'm not going to interlope on that.

But I rebut your logic. I claim, rather, that it is proof that talking about it but not doing it gets you more shit than if you don't talk about what you're not doing. :-)
I would also observe, tangentially, that, all other things being equal*, those who can apply their own patches get more done than those who can't.
