I went looking for an HTML renderer, and wxPerl was recommended to me. I'm by no means an OO or GUI expert, and I've managed to get some simple stuff working with it. It supposedly supports most HTML. Might be worth looking into... "We're experiencing some Godzilla-related turbulence..."
