    do you have JS activated?

    And the "Free Nodelet" must be activated at Nodelet Settings (updated the main post)

      Define "activated". It was 0, I just set it to 1, but when I hit stumbit it changed to 1.9. Still does not appear to be working.

        Setting it to non-zero defines the position on the left side of the page. Does it show?

        Which browser do you use? Any add-ons like no-script?

        update

        simple check: putting <script>alert("Free Nodelet activated")</script> into your Free Nodelet should give you an alert whenever the free nodelet shows.
