community of R in stackoverflow doesn't respond to R questions Yup, and that is why Perl is often a great choice. Maybe you'd like to ask your question here in a language agnostic way and maybe we can find a Perl solution for you? Optimising for fewest key strokes only makes sense transmitting to Pluto or beyond	[reply]

This forum is about Perl and things related to Perl. If you have a question about other programming languages, you will most likely need to find another forum to ask your question. This is not the place for R questions.	[reply]

Many of the best discussions of "R" actually occur within discussions of "statistics in general," often in the context of well-known systems like SAS and SPSS, all of which now contain support for "R." This is now recognized as a programming language which concerns statistics, and which therefore offers useful things that these "macro-based tools" don't have. But nevertheless it's rarely discussed independently. (You will also find meaningful discussion in Python circles.)	[reply]

For whatever reason, the language that you will find being used in "R" circles is Python, not Perl.	[reply]
