My 20th PerlMonks anniversary

On this date 20 years ago, I created my PerlMonks account. It had served me well. I lurked more than posted. I learned a lot and when I did ask questions, I almost always received an answer. Thank you all. My Perl programming career would have been worse without you.

I appreciate you calling it out. I made my first account 19ish years ago; lost it; made a new one which is 17 years, 7 months, and 10 days old as of now and I can only say that easily because I know Perl. The help I found here made it easier still. This is a rather special corner of the Internet. Persons like you and the continuity of that are why.

Always great to hear a positive story like this, thanks for that, and for your contributions over the years.

Interesting because I have been using Perl Monks for, probably, 20 years on and off. It was only yesterday I decided to create an account and contribute...partly because I possibly now have something to contribute but also because I want to step my programming up a gear and my language of choice is Perl.

Most of what I write is web based so, of necessity, I also write quite a bit of Javascript. Additionally a small amount of Java for Android apps for my own consumption.

Here's to the next 20 years!
